Project context
I photograph activations at a number of HomeCo centres, and they are always great fun. For Let It Snow, HomeCo Castle Hill turned the middle of the centre into a summer snow day for local families. There was falling snow, a huge white ball pit, Santa inside his dome, snowman ornament workshops, balloon art, snow characters and live entertainment. My job was to move between everything that was happening and capture the HomeCo branding, the performers and, most importantly, families genuinely enjoying themselves. The kids were having a beautiful time. The final performances came from the breakdancers, who drew a crowd and finished the day with some seriously cool moves.
What I delivered
Outcome
The finished gallery feels like the day did: bright, busy and full of fun. You can see the kids reaching for the snow, families meeting Santa, children showing off their balloon creations and shoppers stopping to watch the breakdancers. HomeCo came away with a strong set of photographs to share after the event and use when promoting future family activations. This is the kind of event photography I love - lots happening, lots of genuine reactions and plenty of great moments to chase.
Why I loved this shoot
This was such a fun one to photograph. The kids were having the best time, and the breakdancers were brilliant.
