Project context

Moth Design booked me to photograph Asahi Group's brand activation at TAB Everest Day at the Australian Turf Club. It is a huge day at Royal Randwick, with the racing, hospitality, fashion and crowd energy all happening at once, so the Asahi space needed to feel like part of the occasion rather than just a branded room. The brief was beautifully simple: make the space look great, capture the brand properly and get some beautiful images of people enjoying the day. I started before guests arrived, photographing the marquee, bar setup, product details, signage and the Asahi moments that had been built into the space. Once the event kicked off, I moved into more of an event and social rhythm: guests arriving, drinks being poured, groups getting together, sweeps, race-day energy and all the little moments that make a brand activation feel alive. The goal was not to overcomplicate it. It was to create a polished, useful gallery that showed the activation clearly and made the day feel as good as it looked.

Outcome

The finished gallery gave the client exactly what they needed: clean brand images, strong event coverage and a set of photos that showed the Asahi activation working in the real world on a major race day. They were very happy with the images on the day, which is always the best feeling on a live event. For me, the win was getting that balance right. The details looked polished, the guests looked relaxed, and the wider TAB Everest Day moments gave the gallery a proper sense of place at the Australian Turf Club.
